ABOUT WESSEX WOODLAND MANAGEMENT

Our Story

Wessex Woodland Management was formed in August 1987, a few months before Michael Fish’s infamous October storm. At that time we were just two men and a dog, with a rapidly increasing client base and work programme.

Our business has continued to grow organically since then and today we have a team of 13 Foresters and four administrators (together with numerous dogs). Our team is made up of  a variety of old hands and new additions, but together we have a broad range of skills and interests which are more than capable to meet any demands that we may face.

We have been especially lucky to have developed such close relationships with many of our clients, meaning that in many cases we have assumed the role of “Estate” forester, rather than consultant or contractor.

WE HAVE 13 FULL TIME FORESTERS WITH A WIDE RANGE OF SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Each of our Foresters has a broad range of skills but also bring with them specialisms in a number of key areas. These include:

In addition to the substantial in house skills at our disposal, we also work with [and fully manage] a large number of long standing specialist contractors as well as most of the major Sawmills and Biomass companies.
